Hi.

Welcome to No Square Peg. I want to impact the way women experience and embrace life through a myriad of channels. I want to encourage them to break rules, barriers, and trends.

Recap : #iaminspired Runway Show @ Le Meridian Chambers Hotel

The evening was to begin on the 5th floor of the beautiful Le Meridian Chambers Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The intimate space will host a group of some of MPLS/St. Paul's local Fashion and Art designers, creators, boutique owners, bloggers, supporters, collaborators, and innovators. With a tall frosty glass of II Anno Enki in hand I made my way up to the 5th floor to join the festivities. With my nerves quickly stirring in my stomach, I slowly counted each floor on the way up with a chatty 'bell boy' in tow. We briefly talked about my store 'No Square Peg' and why I was here. (Thank you, 'bell boy' for asking me if I was one of the models - you made my night). As the door opened I took a breath and walked into the lobby to check myself in. Once I checked in I made my way through the growing crowd of lovely fashionable people to find my seat which was topped with generously filled swag bag. The night was starting off well. As I walked around checking out the local designers and artists being featured I was filled with joy and admiration. Never had I thought that I would be apart of this community. After mingling with new and old faces we took our seats just before the show was to begin. Sarah Edwards started the show off by thanking all of the generous sponsors and supporters of the event listing them off one by one. She entertained us all with her sparkling personality and humor. As the evening commenced we were lulled by the gentle sounds of a spectacular harpist. We viewed collections by local designers and boutiques (Arrow, CVSTINGS, Bumberschute, Semblance, D. Nolo, and My Sister) and the models were styled by the always creative Davee Eek // @youngbrokefabulous. I was so inspired by the talent we have here in Minneapolis, a growing community of such creative individuals. To say that I feel welcomed would be the very least. This community is actively seeking to grow, challenge, sharpen their skills. They are encouraging one another, collaborating across industries, and we are seeing arge organizations stepping up to sponsor us as we grow. I feel honored to be apart of such a thriving community. Thank you to all that put this together as it took many.

Stay tuned as I continue to recap this weeks events at #FWMN!

Xoxo,

Jena
